Event Details

Explore the new Winthrop Library building and enjoy lots of fun activities!

Join us for some family fun and create collaborative paintings with Sphero Robots! Come for one of four 30 minutes sessions starting at 4PM, 4:30PM, 5PM, and 5:30PM.

Spheros are spherical, programmable robots that can be paired with a tablet or smartphone to play games, create programs, and complete challenges. Sphero robots have many different internal parts that make them work including motors, LEDs, encoders, processors, a CPU and Bluetooth communication module for connecting to phones, and a gyroscope that keeps it oriented.

The classic round Sphero shape is similar to a hamster ball, but is about the size of a tennis ball. A small, wheeled robot inside the shell climbs up the walls and pushes them forward, causing the ball to roll.
