Brewster Public Library “Spring Dreams” Nature Hike

Event Details

Bring in the spring season with a fun, outdoor adventure just outside of town! We will meet at Indian Dan Canyon Trailhead and then proceed for an educational, approximately 3 mile hike in this gorgeous state wildlife management area. We’ll discuss hiker preparedness and safety, tips for being good stewards of the environment, as well as local flora and fauna that can be seen in the area this time of year.


Washington State Park Discover Passes are required to park your vehicle at the trailhead. Discover Passes courtesy of the library will be available the day of the program on site on a first come first serve basis. Recommended Gear:


  • Warm, durable clothes suitable for outdoor activities.

  • Hiking shoes.

  • Waterproof rain jacket and hat in the event of rainy weather.


Driving Directions


  • Turn onto Indian Dan Rd off of Highway 97 N, between Brewster and Pateros.

  • Proceed up the hill on Indian Dan Rd approximately 2.4 miles. The road is mostly hard packed gravel and is suitable for ordinary vehicles.

  • Turn left onto Getz Rd. We will meet at the trailhead at the end of Getz Rd, approximately one half mile down the road from the Indian Dan Rd turnoff.
