Social Justice Lecture Series

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Virtual NCRL
What is justice? What does justice look like in the real world? What should it look like?

In this series of 8 lectures, Dr. David Smith will help us examine the many interpretations of both social and criminal justice that have been suggested throughout history and will help us evaluate proposals for change within American society.

After earning an M.A. in philosophy of religion and serving as an urban law enforcement officer,  Dr. David E. Smith received a second M.A. and Ph.D. in religious studies from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. David teachers for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Washington, is a speaker for Humanities Washington, and offers courses in religion and philosophy at many different venues through Beliefs and Ethics Seminars. He has published in these areas as well. His mission is to empower people to think for themselves about things that matter.

Lecture dates include November 3 and 17, December 1 and 15, January 5 and 19, and February 2 and 16 all from 4-5PM through the Zoom webinar platform.

All NCW Libraries' virtual events are free and open to the public. To participate, register here. Registrants will receive an email with the zoom meeting information.
