Film Club Showing & Discussion: Metropolis (1927)

6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Wenatchee Library
Robert W. Woods Reading Room (periodicals)

Our first Film Club showing is...

* Metropolis *

Join us for a showing of Metropolis, Fritz Lang’s groundbreaking 1927 silent film! One of the earliest films in the science fiction genre, the story depicts a society divided between the opulent Industrialist class in the upper city of Metropolis, and the ‘Workerswho toil underneath it. The film’s enduring themes and innovative visuals continue to resonate with audiences today. Stay with us after the screening for a discussion on how this classic has influenced modern filmmaking and endured the test of time!

Film Club will meet once per month on the 3rd Friday of every month from 6-9 PM. The movie showing will be followed by an hour-long discussion facilitated by a staff member. Snacks and refreshments will be provided! Though everyone is welcome, please keep in mind that the titles chosen are for an adult audience.

We hope to see you there!
